I had the exact same problem! except my straightners were remington and cost £70...and as i got so annoyed with my hair i decided to just buy GHD's for £100! Trust me, you hair wont flick out any more with these straightners

I do not know why everyone advocates GHD straightners with such a passion. I personally do not prefer them.
For one, if you want truly straight hair, i suggest you blow dry first, straighten second.
I personally use a T3 tourmalin blowdryer and straightner and belive they are the best out there. They never burn my hair and they leave it really nice and soft... i hate that stuck to my head stick straight look.. i like a flowy soft straight hair..
I suggest going to a salon and asking your hair lady if you can try the various straightners they have in-house. THen make your decision based ont he one you prefered.

i have the same problem!
i use nicky clarke straightners
what i do is put some heat protective spray on (if you want) and leave the straightners on the end for about a min or less depending on thickness of hair
hope this helps :D

Get GHD straightners
But if you can't afford them then maybe you could blow dry your hair first then when you straighten it try turning the ends in, instead of just doing it straight down

GHDs.
Only ones that work for people with really curly hair. Mine is as frizzy as h*ll.
I've tried lots, and GHDs are well worth the money.
