Im a nurse, and I could answer that lot (asking rather a lot I thought!), but why not look it up and you will learn much more than by me or anyone else telling you...;

I am a nurse and your assignment is the topic I will be discussing with my class, however if you are a student nurse, I suggest it would be better you do your own research. You can check the book "Manual of Nursing by lippincot" it discussed your topic there in brief and concise manner. Good Luck!!!
