Gurka's take being in the British Army as the highest of achievements in their own country. It's one of the few ways of making it big for them and treat Britain with honour, why shouldn't we accept any of our commonwealth brothers from joining our forces. The highest medal of valour this country gives out, is the Victoria Cross, chances are if you receive one your probably dead, Gurka's have in Army history been awarded 14 of these medal's that's bravery considering how many serve...

Its a great thing. These soldiers bring a lot to the Army and the majority are decent soldiers. It also educates our young British soldiers about other cultures, religions etc in a positive way and not from the bigoted, inflammatory guff you find in the daily mail.
I've got young lads that have never left the UK other than on Operations that know all about Islam, Hinduism, national customs etc that they have learnt from fellow (commonwealth) soldiers.
At the end of the day they are hardworking young men and women trying to do the right thing and paying their taxes whilst they do it!

The Gurkha's are the best that serve in the British forces in my opinion apart from the British themselves.Every country that serves in or for the British and it's fellow Commonwealth countries are brave and well trained because they are trained by the British. My personnel favorites who serve in the British forces are the Gurkha's because they are very loyal to Britain and they are extremely brave.
