You would have had to see a doctor and got a blood picture done for you to know that your Hb is down. I don't understand why the doctor did not suggest to you what the reason might be for that. One thing to NOT do without a doctor's specific recommendation, is take supplementary iron. That's a no- no.because iron has no way to self-eliminate from the body, and you could get yourself in a ton of trouble.
Just eat healthy, with accent on green leafy veggies... spinach, dark greens, broccolli etc. And it wouldn't hurt to take a daily multivitamin supplement - again I always advise one that either contains no iron, or the smallest possible percentage. If there is no other underlying cause for your Hb to be down, that should be all you need to get back in balance.

Eat liver, spinach, green vegetables. Cut your fat intake to reduce your cholesterol. Go to your Doctor's surgery and ask the nurse for a diet sheet, which should have been automatically provided.

Swap butter for olive oil, as that will help clean your arteries and lessen your fat intake. Lots of nice leafy and colourful fruit and veg and less processed food. Good old simple meat and veg should do the trick, and the more variety you have the better.
