I need to buy a gift for someone who has a hard time figuring out computers but LOVES to take pictures-and is really good at it too. I thought a cheap user friendly camera would be a good starting point. Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't know how cheap it is, but my digital camera is very very easy to navigate, and to download pics all you have to do is plug it in and they pop up. It's the Nikon Cool Pics camer, it has great resolution and is very compact. Again I don't know the price anymore, but it is very easy to use.

I like the Kodak EasyShare line of digital cameras. They aren't professional quality, but you can still take great pictures with them. You'll need a memory chip, though, 'cause the standard memory that they come with won't hold more than a dozen or so pictures. Also, invest in 4-6 NiCad or NMh rechargeable batteries and a charger, because it eats alkaline batteries like candy.

I personally am a big fan of Kodak's "Easy Share" cameras, as they're not only easy to use, but easy to download. I found www.circuitcity.com the best place to look for items such as these simply because of the customer reviews. You might want to check that out. Also consider one of Kodak's Easy Share bundles with the camera, printer, and docking station all in one package.
