I think it's better with a loving partner. Safer too.

There's no such thing as "harmless fun". There's always risk. You just have to decide if the risk is worth it. Generally collective opinion is that this risk (not just STDs, but also pregnancy and hurting other peoples' feelings, etc) isn't worth it. Still it's up to you to decide.

For me, it's definitely not worth it. And a big part of that is due to the fact that sex with strangers doesn't seem that appealing. I may be attracted to someone I don't know, but I would never want to share such an intimate thing with someone I'm not completely sure deserves it. To me sex isn't something you just get from others; it's also something you give and I'm not inclined to be a very generous with strangers when it comes to anything, let alone something so fantastic.

duh! Your question sucks! Both of your options are wrong.

Sex with strangers is not frowned upon just because society doesn't like it. Society has got reasons for this!!

I'm not saying don't do it, I've done it myself. But you have to be a little bit ignorant to think that it is harmless fun.

The problems with sex with strangers:
*Rape
*STI's (can still get crabs even if use protection)
*Pregnancy, then not knowing who the father is. (Haven't you seen Jerry Springer or Jeremy Kyle!!)
*Getting a stalker
*Seriously hurting someones feelings
*Getting beaten up. (either by them if they turn out to be crazy or by their partner)
*Low self-esteem
*Friends and family thinking that you are dirty, easy, have no self respect, have no self disipline, that you are out for what you can get from people, therefore self-centred etc..
*Becoming all of the above
*Never finding anyone who actually cares about you.

Like I said there are good sides to it, but not that many. I suppose its OK now and again, as long as they aren't too strange to you. Make sure they are a friend of a friend, or that someone else knows what you are doing. Always have a get out plan.

harmless?
STD's, pregnancy, does any of that matter?
There is a reason why it is considered wrong and Im not so sure it is society that thinks its wrong the media really glamorizes people acting like whores without showing the consequences.
Not to mention, shouldn't a person have more respect for their body than to give it up to anybody that makes them horny?
Have some dignity.

By the way, typically the people who are for abortion like to have promiscuous sex also. No need for taking responsibility for your actions just suck the baby out into a sink and go on with your life.

Sex with the stranger is a very popular fantasy of women. It is variation of a one-night stand that participant did not know each other before. In Western society, there is often a social stigma associated with one-night stands, reflected in the phrase "Walk of shame", wherein a participant in a one-night stand has to go home in the morning wearing clothes that were worn the previous night. As the name implies, the relationship only "stands", or exists, for one night.

Sex with strangers? You've got to be kidding. Frowned upon, without a doubt. Do you have any idea how many diseases you could pick up from having sex with just anyone?- Even if you use condoms! You could get oral diseases or skin diseases, anything! Society doesn't look down on it because it's sleazy- it's a health hazard!

Society frowns only because people are jealous of others who can go out and get a partner THAT night.

It is not harmless, especially for women, since women are more prone to diseases given that reproductive system is open, where as the male organs just dangle outside the body.

Sex with strangers only increases your risk of getting STDs

Who cares what This human society thinks, We've conditioned ourselves to have opinions on everything... We've lost our instincts and primal urges. Animals don't seem to mind shagg.ing a stranger!
If its safe , consensual and legal it's fun.

frowned upon because of theamount of danger you put yourself in in being that vulnerable with someone that for all you know could have been a rapist released from jail.
