We are meeting up soon after a short while apart.
He is in British Army and in different barracks than usual. I know that he is a bit fed up as he is back in basic accomodation of bunk beds and lockers!

What would be a nice (inexpensive) present to give him, surprise him and make him smile?

Opinions from current soldiers and soldiers wives would be appreciated.
No smut please!! :-)

A George foreman grill, some dvd's to watch and the kit to make loads of butties so you can stay tucked up all day.

Has the added bonus that when he makes a butty he'll think of you-squad and stomach's usually a good combo.

Failing that gucci socks-for some reason that tends to float their boat too-my hubby has loads of pairs!?

Other than that you're looking at the usual guaranteed smile stuff like F.M.B's-but that's into smut.....

Send him a little parcel with haribo, chocs and stuff and also something personal like a photo. Getting an unexpected parcel in the army is pure morale!

Failing that get him a copy of 40 plus.

How about a simple MP3 player, with some of your favourite music (perhaps soundtracks from films you've seen together) and a recording of you saying something that he can listen to to make him feel a bit better about life in general when he's on his own.

Get some of those small photos done at Boots so he can stick them unobtrusively around any space he can call his - a favourite walk, you in a dress he likes, a fun party shot...

How about one of those really small really squishy cushions - one of my pals gave me one of those when I was feeling miserable and it cheered me up more than I expected it to (but there may be restrictions on his possessions, I don't know).

Sure you'll think of something!
:)

Get him an emergency kit from the Army stores - My brother loves his.

Or see if you can get the 'married house' for a day and go and cook him a nice meal if he's near you

A scrap book of all your memories together, so he can look through it and smile when you're apart. My grandad was a pilot and my nana did this for him and he said things like 'A picture of them on holiday' and his little girls ballerina shoes in the scrap book really made him feel like he was home.
