Yes you can, but does not taste that good as one made with white rice the same way. What I do is i add deed fried chopped onions and cashew nuts, as well as a pinch of cardamom powder to taste. Also slice a carrot and cabbages as well as mushroom to thin strips cook in a little bit of butter, add salt after taking off from fire. when cooking the rice mix them all in to the rice.
I have found that the rice must be cold (not ice cold but not hot or warm even) and dry with the grains separating from each other.
Make sure that you are careful when adding water and when cooing the rice add a table spoon of butter or margarine to the water.
Good luck, I eat this 'cos its more nutritious.

Since you have to boil rice before you can fry it, then why not. Brown rice takes longer to cook. Best to use rice which has been cooked the day before. It's basically a left-over dish.

Yes, it may take a little longer to cook but will taste better. I never use anything other than brown rice - much nicer.

Yes, but cool the rice first b4 you try and fry it, make sure the rice ISNOT gummy, it must be fluffy, and seperate...
cook your egg first, make a sheet- then cube it, then put your cooking oil in the pan and fry your rice, adding the egg, and green onions, and soy sauce.
also you could add diced chicken, or pork, or even shrimp- just cook thiose first or you will wind up with a gummy mess.

I wouldn't use anything else but the brown rice. It still contains all the goodness because it hasn't been "fooled around with" by processing.

yah brown rice is the best, the trick to making fried rice is in using day old rice, fresh stuff is still too moist to work, you'll end up with a yucky sticky mess, and to make your own S&S sauce mix some ketchup vinegar pineapple juice brown sugar and a bit of flour in a bowl, microwave for 7 minutes whisking every minute, adding flour as you go to thicken it

the trick to really good fried rice is to use day old rice.
