This happens to nearly everyone.
I have taught AutoCAD and after give the assignment half the class dozes off in the remaining hour.
First, are you getting enough sleep?
Second, if you can, take a stroll, get up and return
3rd, switching subjects is an excellent idea!!
beyond these its about mental discipline
Keep repeating your goal!
if you can, rush to the end and read it all backwards!
you'd be surprised!! one of my students suggested this one to me! I have used in for on-line refresher training I had, WOW!
OK, back to work

There are various things that are related to attention and which can cause focus problems. Things to check out:
Have you eaten? (But not too much)
Have you had enough to drink? Not enough water can really detract from your ability to focus and process.
Do you have a suitable place to work? Is it well lit? A good temperature? No visual things distracting you?
Is the content the problem?
Sometimes it's just a matter of getting ourselves into a habit. If you know you can focus for 15 minutes, set yourself a timer for 20 minutes, then switch to another subject, do 20 minutes, then switch, do another 20 minutes and take a 15-minute break. If you find you can't even last the 15 minutes, then try something smaller, even if it's just 16 minutes. When you feel ready to increase the amount of time on the timer, then just add to it.
Also, try to have a feel for which subjects are the easiest to stay focused on--and give yourself more time for those--and the ones that are the hardest to stay focused on. If you absolutely can't spend more than 15 minutes on a particular subject, then set it up so you do two sessions in one day for that subject.

Maybe you are not being challenged enough in your school work and that is why you are bored. Could also be that you have ADD issues and if that is the case, then there is nothing you can do other than to go see a doctor. Many people who have ADD do not realize it.
Another thing could be to talk to your parents and see if they can put you in a co-op with other homeschooled kids on the same subjects. Another option could be to start your own study group with other homeschooler kids. Maybe you do need some socialization but at the same time study.
If you are having a hard time concentrating because your mind goes off on tangents, have a small notebook handy and everytime you start thinking of something you need to do while studying, write it down, that way its off your mind but you know you wont forget it later because its written down.
Good luck!

You know what usualy helps is coffee. Yes, beleive it or not its true. I suggest every morning on the days you have work you drink about a cup of it. Wether your tired or not. Also make sure you have no other distractions on such as a TV. In replace of listening to the TV listen to your favorite radio/CD insted. Set gaols for yourself. Just hang in there and you will get everything done!~

My son is in 5th grade and has this problem. I tell him to run, do jumping jacks, or climb the stairs for about 5 minutes. Get a drink of water, use the restroom and back to work. This normally works for him. Try something like this, it most likely will help.

I suggest doing what you would do if you had to get up and go to public school. Don't just roll out of bed and get online. Get up early, take a shower, eat breakfast. Everything you would do before going to a regular school. It should help out.
Also, make sure you are getting plenty of sleep. Get rid of as many distractions as possible. Don't leave the TV on, leave your cellphone off, etc.
Just keep your eye on graduation and good luck!

the reason is other parts of your body and brain needs to be activated, and when you don't satisfy that you will feel frustrated and uneasy, so when you are home schooled you have less contact with people, so get as much contact with people your age and have fun sharing ideas or whatever you like, if you feel that wont work try sports or playing music to advance you brain activity and help you achieve more.
