As a single father who raised two kids alone......
The hard question is what is best for your son?
I know it sucks, but that is what it comes down to.
My children's mother did the same thing to my kids, they came to understand her shortcomings and lack of responsibility in their own time. Guess where they are coming for Thanksgiving!

I think you should definitely go on about your business...I am sure you want your son to learn that there are consequences for being irresponsible, so rewarding your ex by rearranging everything for him when he does not deserve it would not help your son, you OR your new man. Have a good Holiday, and worry about whats good for the men in your life who are worth it!

I wouldn't cancel my plans for him. If there is a bit of time during your planned out day then tell him to meet you somewhere to see your son. Otherwise, I wouldn't change anything for him....unless your son asks to see him.

I would do what you had planned....why should you change your plans to accommodate him when he has no consideration for you and what you have going on. i he wants to see his child then he should make more effort...
