In the Cafes along Bond Street! ...;

First, the Edgeware Road in London: most of the cafes and restaurants there, or try the nearby Green Valley store (36-37 Upper Berkeley Street), a supermarket where you can buy most Arab foodstuffs and where the staff are all Arabic speakers.

Still in London, try the al-Saqi bookshop, 26 Westbourne Grove, quite near Whiteleys.

As other writers have suggested, if you're not in London, try your local mosque, but remember that most people probably be of sub-continental origin (Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi) - the imam of the mosque near me teaches Arabic but is of Indian origin, so is better at classical Arabic than modern spoken Arabic.

And of course, try the local Lebanese restaurant, if there is one.

If you're in a university city, or somewhere with English language schools, put an ad up in (or in a shop near) the school/college offering English conversation in exchange for Arabic conversation. I saw such an advert placed by a Qatari language student when I was at university and got some useful practice with Arabic (and he with English).

I reckon a Mosque is where you are most likely to find Arabic speakers. How about at universities where Arabic can be studied/Islamic studies. Otherwise use this forum to find some Arabic speakers and then use something like Skype!

Hoep this helps! Good luck!

Night school?
I don't see why everyones fuelling the fire of hatred because you asked this question, but I genuinely want to help. I myself am completely british, and I respect everyone- bar terrorists. I, unlike many people accept that there are a few bad people who are making people like yourself get tarred with the same brush.
There are law abiding, sociable, kind muslims/arabs out there and I do pity those who are short sighted and narrow minded about this world.
Good luck with practicing arabic, try getting in touch with a local college.

The Foreign Office - it is full of Arabists. The late Lawrence of Arabia was once in their employ and he was an absolute expert in Arabic including most dialects and other Mideastern languages besides.
