My husband put a new battery in my car almos a year ago. Since then we have had problems with sendiment (sp) forming on the battery and new it will not start. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Check with your dealer about any recalls. Could be a cheap battery, bad cables, who knows without more information. You don't say how old, how many miles, etc...all could contribute to a problem!

Please include the year, make and model. You might want to throw in the make of the battery as well.
There is need to clean the terminal every so often. There is battery terminal grease you can apply to the terminal.
You may have a weak alternator.

You should clean the connectors....pour soda pop (Coke, Dr. Pepper) on the connectors and use a wire brush to scrub them off....then try to jump it off...you may need a new battery as well...

probably, try emptying your battery and refill a 70/30 mixture of acid and distilled water.

note!
some dealers sometimes make mistakes on liquid mixtures. and most of the times, it is up to us to correct them...
