Long lines for visas in consulates abroad, exaggerated travel restrictions and rude/aggressive immigration agents are making travellers to think twice when deciding vacations in the US. I currently live in Europe my friends (for instance) are considering going to Cuba or Mexico instead the US for vacations, they blame us (Americans) for all this mess in airports and customs. Sometimes I don’t know what to say because I also think some measures are exaggerated and not everyone consider this as minor difficulties while travelling to the “freedom” of American society.

I was born and live in the US. When I travel overseas I dread coming back and having to deal with US customs and immigration. Other countries, a good example is Narita airport in Japan, are much more organized and move things along much quicker than any of the US airports I've been to and I've been to a few: JFK,Newark, Miami, Detroit, Honolulu, LAX. I had to sit on the plane in Detroit for an hour because the flight was early and the immigration staff was not in place. We need to work on improving the balance between security and efficiency.
By the way. Where do people get the idea that the US doesn't take in BILLIONS from tourists? It's one of the most popular destinations among people in Europe and Asia. If you want proof, as an example, just go to Disney world and listen. You'll hear languages and people from all over the world.

If the OWS communities could abide by utilising the regulation, the police would not ought to spray them with mace. In DC a seventy 8 twelve months old woman leaving a conservative convention substitute into pushed down the stairs by utilising protesters. I heard no outcry from OWS approximately their brutality. They terrorized a guy using down the line and 3 of them have been hit by utilising the vehicle yet they call the motive force a fascist. They value agencies in NYC a a million/2 million money, yet it extremely is wonderful with OWS. I wish the human beings could have some conferences and be certain what their purpose is and circulate abode. they actually don't have plenty help anymore from the commonplace public. they are uncivilized. Its throughout however the so-pronounced as "brutality". day after today they plan to circulate the Brooklyn bridge, close down Wall highway, and block the subways in 5 burroughs of NYC. look for some extra brutality. they are inquiring for it. Begging.

Blame the terriorists on the difficulties.......from my understanding it's not "easy" anywhere. I live here and won't fly anymore, even in my own country. It's a total pain. So it's certainly not limited to out of country tourists. I'm sure there's areas dependant on tourists just like anywhere. Personally.....I'd be more likely to go to certain places if it wasn't so crowded with tourists. I don't mind foreigners but huge masses of people from anywhere kind of spoils the fun. I'll wait till "off season" so I can enjoy it. I'd rather go to Disney or lay on the beaches in March than stand in lines for hours or lay shoulder to shoulder on the beach after 2 hrs. of traffic jams in July. Sometimes our own"freedom" is severly restricted during "tourist" times. I know alot of people said they never met anyone from Florida while vacationing in Florida......that's because anyone who lives there avoids the hot spots and crowds during that time.

It has to do with strict enforcement of visas, if you read the text carefully, and I suspect it has to do with how many more want to come than are allowed to come, given how many overstay, from certain countries. We have more than 10 million people here illegally and 40% have overstayed their visas..

However, there is no reason any of our officials should be rude.

Security I don't have a problem with. I remember when things were reversed, and if I traveled to Germany my bag had to be opened on the tarmac with me beside it before it was allowed on the plane. They had guards with automatic weapons at the Frankford airport, too. Now it is we who are stricter. I did prefer to go through England back then if Germany wasn't my destination, and they may prefer to go to Mexico (Cuba?) That is a matter of preference and entirely their option, of course.

No offense, but the American economy really doesn't require foreign tourists to thrive.
And as an American, I am glad to know that it is getting to be difficult to enter this country.
Thankfully after 9/11 we have finally wised up and started to
screen more carefully who enters this country.

Um, one date should sum this tight security right up. SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001. Does that ring a bell? Hello? Anyone home? What good is complaining gonna do? It's not gonna change this country's security measures. Go ahead, complain to the government. They will just laugh in your face. If it means thwarting another terrorist attack like the one on 9/11, then I'm all for it.

Well I don't know what to say about the rude immigration agents but the travel restrictions are necessary. We have to protect ourselves from terrorists.

Oh, puhleeze? Depend? Depend? LOL! The USA does not need tourism. Now, Cuba, Mexico and places like Hawaii and Jamaica are pretty dependant upon tourism. On the mailand, we actually probably wish all foreign travelers would go elsewhere. We have plenty of industry and income and we have no need to depend on tourism for anything. After 911, do you blame USA for tightening up security?

Nope. We don't DEPEND on anyone but ourselves for livilhood. We make the money, the world needs US. Near every country in the world owes USA billion's upon billion's of dollar's, through aid, and loans, which we will never get returned to us. Why do you think everyone wants to come to America? To enrich themselves, or take what we have.
