Don't take anyone's advice. Go see a doctor.

It sounds like it is is a bursa. It is a lump that your body produces to protect an area in the same way that a blister does this. I am guessing that you have an over use injury to a tendon called tendinitis. That is what hurts. Do you type a lot or use that wrist a lot in a job. if so that is what the problem is.
You need to get it checked by a doc or physio therapist. The only way to help it is to stop using it and maybe put a temporary brace on it. Tendinitis is when the tendon frays like a rope does. It needs time to heal. Ice and elevation and compression work well. If you use ice wrap it in a towel or you will get an ice burn.

I have the same type of thing in my wrist. I went to the doctor and mine turned out to be a ganglion cyst (spelling). It nothing serious but you should have yours checked just to be sure. There's no need to have mine removed unless it gives me problems (which it does, but not all the time).

Sounds like a ganglion cyst. See the link below.

It sounds like a cyst. My friend had one on her wrist, although hers was alot bigger. She had it removed at the doc's office. You need to go to the doc's. It won't go away on it's own, especially since it's been a year.

This could be anything from a cyst to an embolism. You need to go to a doctor ASAP.

I think maybe you should go to the doctor, see what he says about it. If you haven't you could be putting a life or death matter to the side. Good luck.
