I don't agree with this war at all.

Yes. I consider it an honor and a duty in times of war to defend one's country, whether on the battlefield with weapons or here at home with words. I think that the correct phrasing of the question should have been "if your kids are drafted" rather than "when your kids are drafted" since there is no draft in place as you wrote the question.

Funny 2 of my children are already planning on joining the military, one said Marines the other Air Force.
But, then again they are just keeping the tradition alive and going......
And I don't think there will be a draft...too many complications, the military is better off with keeping it just as it is, ALL Volunteers.
I have said it before and I will say it again, we Eventually would have had to go into Iraq. It was only a matter of time.....I'd rather it be my husband than my kids. (and YES my husband has been to Iraq)

I really hate it when people use the word pro-war. No sane civilized person wants war. It's a last ditch effort when common sense has failed. And yes I would when our freedom is at stake but I doubt my children would have to be drafted. They'd volunteer. Guess that's the difference between true Americans and those that just want to hang out here.

One Of My Two Sons Is Already In Service
My Other Son Won't Qualify For Draft
As He Is One Of Two Sons
But He Can Enlist If He Chooses

IF (And Thats A Pretty BIG IF) The Draft Is Reinstilled
I Will Try To Requalify And Go Back In Myself (Volunteer AGAIN)

That Said ....

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
BRING THEM HOME NOW

STOP THE ILLEGAL WAR IN IRAQ

To announce that there must be No Criticism of the president,
Or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong,
is not only unpatriotic and servile,
but is morally treasonable to the American public.

This doesn't really apply to me; I've been against the war from the first I heard about it in 2002, I think. This is unlike the Flip-Floppers like John Kerry, and many Democrats who voted to authorize the war. I also don't have kids; however, if I am drafted, then I will comply.

There won't be another draft. Our kids are already in 'harm's way'. Look at the porous border we have. How many terrorists do think may have already infiltrated that border and are right here among us just waiting for the word to strike? Look at the draining of our governmental taxpaid programs that are being depleted by illegal immigration. Look at our dwindling natural resources that are being depleted by the influx of so many immigrants (legal AND illegal) into our country. How long do you think our nation can supply jobs, water, natural gas, trees, farmland, oil for all the people when they multiply to billions just in this one country alone? Take a look at where we are headed if we don't control all immigration and reduce it immensely. Our future generations will be living a world of chaos. WE "can" reduce the effects if we only can convince CONGRESS to reduce the numbers of ALL immigrants entering our country each year to 200,000. IT CAN be done. We must act NOW.

That's Charles Rangels point.
excerpt from link
Rep. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., said Sunday he sees his idea as a way to deter politicians from launching wars and to bolster U.S. troop levels insufficient to cover potential future action in Iran, North Korea and Iraq.

"There's no question in my mind that this president and this administration would never have invaded Iraq, especially on the flimsy evidence that was presented to the Congress, if indeed we had a draft and members of Congress and the administration thought that their kids from their communities would be placed in harm's way," Rangel said.

Rangel, a veteran of the Korean War who has unsuccessfully sponsored legislation on conscription in the past.....

I am not pro war ,but I am pro lets win this war or end it and let Iraq fend for its self. Not one American life is worth this BS.Its another Viet Nam.My husband spend 15 months in as a POW during that fiasco. So I know the pain of war.I died a little each day he was a prisoner.
This stupid status quo nonsense is ridiculous and we need to either go in full force and win it or just pull out and go on with our lives.

Yes, when necessary, my children understand that some Americans are cowards, but they have been taught to rise above selfish wants and place the needs of their nation first.

By fighting tyranny with uncommon valor and bravery that are the hallmarks of being American, and protecting the rights of even the most wretched human beings, we accentuate the very best qualities found in all of humanity. Even when those wretched human beings happen to be a few cowards among our citizenry.

If/when my "kids" are called by this great nation into harms way I will fear for them, pray for them, and worry for them, yet I will always be proud of them and their bravery!
