The fence is to keep illegals out, now if a person wants to dodge the draft, Mexico is the last place anyone wants to go to, there is nothing there, unless you have "money". All you have to do is have money in Mexico, and you can have it all. Anyway, back to the question, if anyone wants to dodge the draft, go to Canada. At least there you can establish yourself a hell of a lot better than Mexico.

Why don't you get it through your thick heads. THERE WILL BE NO DRAFT!!!! It's just something that was brought up to stir up emotions. A plan is in the wake for a different approach to the war. There are enough volunteers still flowing in to keep the draft from happening. Besides, the amount of soldiers we've lost in this war are nothing compared to past wars where we lost that many in 6 mnths to a year. So get over it. THERE WILL BE NO DRAFT!!!! Besides, the only ones that will be running to Mexico are the hispanics who are unloyal to this country. All the other Americans will be running to Canada.

Well the original purpose was to stop illegal immigrants from coming in. But if they start up the draft again and everyone runs to Mexico, I bet that will be the incentive they need to finally build the fence instead of just talking about it.

not A FENCE -- 2 PARALLEL CONCRETE partitions we've a extensive difficulty and it is going to be addressed. maximum international locations maintain their border earlier doing something. it relatively is irrational that we've not. or maybe a united states of america ruled by utilising chimps, if it relatively is earning a GDP of over one thousand billion funds (Mexico) ought to enhance a extensive economic equipment. Washington is discussing scrapping the fence for a 40 foot, concrete double-wall equipment (like we build daily, right here. "Pour-in-place" or "tilt-wall") and not basically one. they're suggesting 2 partitions, parallel, 'bout 30 ft aside with a street in between. (and could I recommend quite some stunning dogs!) Sounds expensive yet could be performed for what Iraq expenses in a week. the U. S. government already positioned up a million.2 billion. on the tech-area, Boeing have been given a settlement to grant digital patrol. and there is talk of drilling very long, pencil skinny vertical rods into the floor. They'dl spark off an alarm if disturbed (like, by utilising somebody digging a tunnel) The Sonora and Mohave deserts are just about impossible to circulate. quite of a wall, the digital patrol with movable human outposts each 3 to 5 miles will ought to do. If we gain a "nab-fee" of, say ninety 9.8% (do-in a position), the wall-equipment could be a extensive success. Even ninety 5% could be properly worth as plenty to the U. S. as a protracted-lasting democracy in Iraq. (Now, you Iraqi's, i'm fascinated by a protracted-lasting democracy, only would not do plenty for our economic equipment on condition that we are discovering extensive new oil reserves everywhere...even off the coast of Norway) Do the mathematics: each and each unlawful crossing expenses a minimum of $1000, unfastened if performed legally Coming for funds? the main suitable pay, > $20/hr, isn't properly worth it. it would be only wierd to pay two times Migrants interviewed say they're going to attempt 3 or 4 circumstances, then provide up if caught each and every time. as that's, we capture under 10%.

A serious commitment to border security
would require fencing off the entire southern border—
(For comparison, we have 40,000 miles
of Maintained US Interstate Highways.)
At $1.7 million per mile
(the cost of the first 10 mile stretch in San Diego),
the entire U.S.-Mexican border could be sealed off
all 1,891 miles of it.
for $3.3 billion dollars.
Iraq spending equivalent: 13.8 days.
Cost/benefit analysis, anyone?

the way the American government is going the country will end up like Berlin with a wall around it. Freedom of speech is being eroded every day in the name of George Bush's war on terror ,one wonders where his greatest allegiance lies with his country or his oil pals.

Yes. This fence will cost us approximately $35 billion and will do nothing to protect our Northern border.
Don't forget that when you build fences to keep people out they also keep people in.
