The nasolacrimal duct. The lacrimal gland is the gland above your eye that produces tears. The tear duct causes the tears to exit next to the eye. The nasolacrimal duct connects the lacrimal gland and the nose, so some of the secretions of this gland are taken to the nose.

there is a small drain duct on the inside of your eye so when your eyes water the fluid drains down the duct in to your nose..some times you can hold your nose and and blow air on to your eye

besides the above answers, watery eyes can be due to histamine release, which also can cause a runny nose.
