Can I feel this problem for myself, say during a self exam? If so, how can I tell?

Dude, if you have torsion, trust me, you won't be standing, and you will know it. Imagine the most intense pain of your life, now imagine it a million times worse. Seriously. i was shot in iraq, and it didn't hurt as bad as tortion.

Testicular torsion implies that the blood supply to the testicles has been decreased and it is always extremely painful and if you are not in pain then you do not have torsion. Simple twisting of the artery and or a varicocele may not be painful and they may be assessed by an examination by a physician - a non medical person will not be able to recognize these conditions by self exam although periodic self examination of the testes is suggested for other problems such as testicular cancer.

you will know,pain,swelling in testicular region,fever,redness,tender to touch,if you have symptoms See your Dr fast,you could loose yot teste
