It is easy enough. There are quite a few electronics shops in Bangkok, especially in the malls. The computer centre is Panthip Plaza doen in Pratunam. You can try buying one there if you like. Make sure you check all the specifications before you bring it back.

The laptop will work in UK as the transformer runs on 220v, but you will need adapter for the pins as Thailand use straight plug pins, unlike UK.

You can try dropping by Singapore instead and get one here. Price will be better and you get better options on them here too. And the price may be lower than in Bangko! Do consider.

Buying is easy - find them in electronics shops in major shopping centers. Pantip Plaza (near World Trade Center) and Fortune Center (next to Gand Mercure Hotel, Raatchada) are full of computer shops. Will definitely works in the UK. Got to specify that you want your software in English!
