Imperial or American?
An Imperial pint is 20 ounces.
An American pint is 16.
I suppose the Americans changed it so that a pint would indeed be a pound.

If you have a glass measuring cup, look on there. 8 oz is one cup. If you ever have any other question as to how many of this are in that-- how many teasp. in a tablespoon for example- look at the front of a cookbook. There are always charts there for you!!
