It is not like having a first name of a last name. In Judges 13: 18 He replied, "Why do you ask my name? It is beyond understanding. [a] "
Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, [a] Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
These are some examples: all teh above are just attributes , so called names. You can retreive God's names from The bible . Genesis 12: 14 - Exodus 3: 15 - Exodus 17: 15 - Judges 6: 24 - Pslam 83 :18 etc....

This reminds me of an old gnostic description of God
'He is un-namable since there was no-one before him to give him a name, since anyone with a name was the creation of another'
Doesn't mean God can't have a name (or names) but the true name of God is a mystery

According to Abrahamic faiths (Islam & Judaism in particular) God has 100 names, 99 of which are Names of Power which can be used to work magic (Solomon bound 99 djinns or genies with this trick) and one of which is his 'Common' name - Yahweh or Allah. I'd say it was probably Abraham who first called God by one of these 2 names...he is one of the first people in the Pentateuch (first 5 books of the Bible/Torah) to pass the Word along and I guess he had to call God something...otherwise, people would have asked "Which 'god' are you referring to, Abe?"

no one on this earth knows Gods mysterious and sacred name, He has never revealed it to man.
the name Yahweh is widely used but even this is the Hebrew interpretation of `I Am Who Am` spoken to Moses, and by putting in the vowels a and e into the Hebrew letters YHWH.
the name Jehovah is also derived from this.

In the christian religion, the divine scriptures claim that the creator himself revealed his name to mankind. Although this creator had many titles, his one and only name came to be Jehovah.
