I really don't know what's wrong with me. I don't feel like doing anything almost everyday and I always feel like crying. I feel big and fat and I feel as if I won't ever succeed in losing weight, so who cares? I'm fifteen, going on sixteen, isn't my life supposed to be exciting and crazy right now? What am I doing? Every day I wake up, I feel like I'm sinking and falling apart and the only thing in my head says 'Just get through this stupid day'. And another day passes and I say this again the next morning. Is this normal? Even my sister makes fun of me and I don't even have my studies to prove my worthiness anymore. My sister is skinny and fashionable and beside her, I feel like a lump with nothing. I don't feel that there's any meaning to life anymore. What does depression feel like? How do I get past this and become tougher? Is it ok to just have this kind of thinking when you're fifteen?

How you project yourself to the world, is how people will react to you.
Make plans tonight...pick out what you are going to wear for tomarrow, suggestion: jeans, a bright colored top with a black contoured jacket blazer over it, like this one > http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4890964
wear boots/shoes with 2-3 inch heels...
When you get up in the morning...after you shower and get dressed, fix your hair, use a curling iron & curl your bangs (if you have them) and your hair along the sides of your face, put on make-up, apply foundation to even out your skin, put black eye liner on your upper eye lids under your lashes from the middle of your eye to the corner, toward your ear, line your entire lower lid above the lashes, put on mascara, 2 coats, (wait for lashes to dry before second coat) apply pinkish/light red blush to the apple of your cheeks, blend toward your temples...accessories, wear a necklace, watch, a ring or two and a dangly bracelet or bangle...
Now the most important...SMILE! (even though you don't feel like it) smile all day long, stand up straight, put a skip in your step...go right up to people you like or even if you don't, say "hey!" or "good morning", smile, smile, smile...when the teacher asks for answers in class, raise your hand...
When you act confident and out-going, people will respond to you in a positive way...it will raise your spirits and it will change your life!
You want to lose weight...this works for everyone!
Eat several (5-6) small meals a day...your body will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time.
(eat about every 2 hours)
The first 8-10 pounds you shed is water...after that you will lose an average of 2 - 3 lbs per week
Meal suggestions:
piece of fruit
string cheese, summer sausage, cottage cheese/yogurt
tuna/turkey/ham sandwich (lettuce, tomatoe optional)
soup
raw veggies
boiled eggs
popcorn
Always eat a good dinner...meat, potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie...your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy
Low calorie sweets...ginger snaps, fig bars, 100% juice popsicles
Drink plenty of water
Drink milk or juice/water with every meal (no soda pop)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods.
Never eat before going to bed.
Cardio exercise is great, but most people don't continue for an extended period, do "daily" simple exercise like walking/hiking, biking and swimming which are low impact, play games like basketball, baseball, or volleyball, they will help to lose weight, tone your body, make new friends and you'll have fun doing it.
***Get out in the sunshine everyday, about 15 - 20 mins...your body will produce endorphins, dopamine and serotonin which will heighten your positive emotions and lower your depression.***

You are deffinately depressed. A lot of teens go through it, especially when they're overweight, whether it be ten pounds or a hundred. It's hard being 16 and not having that same skinny as* body everyone else has. It doesn't mean your less beautiful. I would suggest seeing a psychiatrist, but maybe before you try that, just get out and exercise. Do some yoga, walk. Exercise is GREAT for your endorphines. It makes you feel good, combined with the fact, it will help you lose weight and that seems to be the root of your problem.

A very sick mama dog is an extremely stressful situation. And I understand your anger at some of the answers that you received. It is normal for you to want to vent back to these folks some of your anger and frustration. So, try to remain calm and keep your focus on your dog & pups. Don't let this cloud your true goal - a healthy dog. And yes, I would love to know this outcome. Kudos to you for your quick action in caring for 7 pups! It isn't easy! I wish that more people would realize that there are situations that stump even the best of vets. While the calicum issue is the most common with these symptoms, it is not the only cause. And your dedication to this dog and her pups is very, very admirable. So, you know that you are responding to this crisis in the best manner possible. You are doing all you can do in an extremely difficult situation. Let God sort out the rest. Peace

Maybe you could talk to a councelor about this. Talking to anyone who isnt judging u will help. Also, look deep inside yourself and ask whats the real reason that I'm so sad? I think if you try to see that you are fine the way you are and nobody is judging you or nobody is noticing the things about you that you are. Take one day to not think about these things and just have a little fun. And you'll realize once you stop worrying so much and give into life things will look better for you.Best of Wishes

Please do not listen to "Liz" or whatever she is. She wrote some really insensitive things. It is too evident she hasn't had any problems in life "YET". You need professional help. Start with your doctor. I know what it feels like to be depressed. I take medication and my life has changed 100 percent. God Bless and hang in there. Talk to your teacher, friend's mother, school counselor. Help is there for you.

You definitely have the classic symptoms for clinical depression. Please talk to your counselor at school or make a doctor's appointment. There are treatments that can help you and what you are going through is not your fault. If you really are suffering from depression (and it very much sounds like you are) you have a chemical imbalance which is making you feel so badly. . .so please do not accept the blame that some of the posters here are trying to put on you. My best wishes for your health.

You sound depressed.
are you sure you're overweight? has your doctor told you you're over weight or is that just what you think? get your doctor to tell you. if you are over weight excerise plenty and eat healthily.

it doesn't sound like you have such a great sister. it's the same with my brother. i know how it feels. as hard as it is try to ignore her.

try talking to someone hunny. it will help. i know like it feels like there's no point in living and everyday seems like a challenge to get through...but it will get better. if you don't think you can lift up your spirits alone...talk to someone. it will help. they'll help you figure how to enjoy you're life and find it exciting, crazy and how to have fun!

if you want someone to talk to you can email me (xxx_devil_from_hell_xxx@ yahoo.co.uk).

good luck xx

It's ok. to have that kind of thinking when you're 15, but talk to a school counselor, preacher, or professional counselor (those that practice outside of school) if you continue to have these feelings.

My dear, listen to me relly carefully..why wont try making sure that other people are not noticing your depression...so that once you are cured from within..people will not know your secret this way you'll aviod criticism from people (who think they are helping by telling how fat or boring you are...they're just ignorant they dont know what it feels like to be in your shoes)
I'm going to help through words but i dont think it will bring a positive effect unless your welling to understand and work with me...
If your positive that your overweight and your not over reacting or just blind folded..then u should try to lose weight (i know it harch to say it out loud this way but it's the process of achieving ur goal and it will help you)
make sure one of your parents helps u with this...there are many healthy and easy ways of losing weight..gradually u'll see some change..
u dont want to look like your sister..you want to look like you...thats all....and to be honest, ur not depressed, your looking for depression and creating it....but u dont know it...
it's actually quite fun in a way to lose weight...think of it as a comptition....
your still young and u have many years in front you..u dont hav to look as sexy as your sister from now....u can wait..have fun...aviod stress to prevent wrinkles..lol...always think positively...
i remember when i was fifteen...i looked terrible..trust me i did...and i never cared..as i grew up i changed and found my self (which never thought would happen)...and when i look at my past pictures..me and my friend just laugh and amke fun of how funny i use to look...

So you want to become tougher and get over it? Well do it. Stop sitting on you're *** waiting for other people to help you. People are assholes. So you think you're fat? Exercise don't just diet get out and do something. Stop sitting around sulking it does nothing for you. Trust me. Self-pity will get you nowhere. Get over it.
