Congratulations on your pregnancy! I lost my mother when I was very young and I was the first of my friends to get pregnant.
-I used the message boards at www.thenest.com alot when I had questions.
-I also loved www.babycenter.com. If you sign up for their email list they'll send you an email each week with how the baby is developing, etc. They also have incredibly helpful articles on every topic from how to give a baby a bath to what to pack when you go to the hospital.
-Finally, ask your doctor about birthing classes. This is a great way for you and the baby's father to meet other parents-to-be and to learn more about your specific hospital's set up, policies and what to expect.
Congrats again and good luck!

I was 19 when I got pregnant. Unlike you, I have to do it without a man there with me. Good Luck and Congratulations!
www.babycenter.com is an excellent site. I realy liked the weekly emails and articles.
www.papmpers.com
Also, get a good Obgyn. They will answer anyquestion no matter how dumb, because every mother was once a first timer too. They generally hand out book and TONS of info.
You can always email me arfiegel@yahoo.com if you want to. And no matter how much or how little you prepare or know before hand, once you hold your baby for the first time, everything will be fine.

You can search pregnancy sites such as babycenter.com
epregnancy.com, amazingpregnancy.com and you can also read books. The 2 books i read durning my pregnancies were " What Expect When Your Expecting and The Girlfriends Guide To Pregnancy (i really liked this one) Also. write any questions or concerns you have down so you wont forget anything when it comes time to see the doctor. Also. If you want stop by the yahoo chat room Pregnancy room 2. Ive been going into that room since my 1st pregnancy and i love there. Most of the girls are nice and helpful. Its located under Health and Wellness. My id in the chat room is danellesimons or my nickname is "dk" hope to see you there. Good Luck =)

Congratulations.
I recommend going out and getting the book "What to Expect When You Are Expecting". It will help with the pregnancy stuff. Yahoo has on line groups where you can talk to people about what you are going through, as does MSN. I think we all just learn as we go. The best advice I ever received when I found out I was pregnant was from my cousin. She said "Don't do anything that you aren't comfortable with"
Good luck and again congratulations.

Well, i don't know any web sites but pregnancy books always helped me. Usually during your first visit with your doc they give you a bag full of helpful stuff i even got a pregnancy book and even though this is my second pregnancy i read it about everyday. Also talking with friends that have had children will give tons of info and facts about labor, delivery and postpartum. I'm so sorry about your mother and i know a time like this is when you truly need her! It's a good thing your boyfriend/husband is such a great guy don't worry he'll be there for you through it all. Also going to classes like breastfeeding and and childbirth preparation will help tremendously. Congratulations!!!

Some GREAT and very popular books....
What To Expect While You Are Expecting
What To Expect the First Year
What To Expect the Toddler Years.
The first on is especially good and you can almost always find a cheap used copy at a baby consignment shop, used book store or used copy on Amazon.com.
Good luck.

I have 2 1/2 kids and I still need help with questions. You can go to BabyCenter.com or American Baby, they send you free mag. in the mail that is based on your trimester. It's very helpful. This is a very exciting time for you and scary. Just remember to keep your prenatal care visits and make a list of questions for the Dr. You can also go to keyword then put in whatever question you have and everything should pop up on the screen. Good luck!

Never fear, "What to expect when your expecting" by Heidi Murkoff is here. My mother gave me this book when I was expecting my first child in 93 and it has since evolved to be one of the greatest books for all expectant mothers. It answers almost all questions that a first time mom would have. The author even has a great website now too at http://www.whattoexpect.com/
Congrats!

There's really no standard handbook for anything. I've read most of them and have tried the solutions that the "experts" have suggested but they really don't work. The best thing I can suggest is talking to his mother and asking for advice or just attending a Mommy & Me class.
