We don't This is silly religious nonsense.

The bible tells us in no uncertain terms that God will never judge us.

I, personally, do not have the need to have someone judge me.

Actions have consequences; these consequences are neither punishments nor rewards - there is no "judgmeent" in what happens to me.

I know, myself, when I've done wrong. I don't need to have someone else evaluate that. I also know when I've done right.

I have NO idea why others may feel this need.

Its the overall nature of the human being to feel superior to others... judging is a sad and twisted form of that.

Because it gives us some kind of recognition and comfort if we know how other people feel. Also, we try to be better if we feel we are being judged negatively.
