I missed out the Stones because they only really came into their own by the 1970's and bands like Pretty Things or Them did exactly the same type of music but sounded much more edgier. And I think bands like Led Zep or the Faces are really 70's bands, even though they released albums at the end of the 60's. Bands like Dave Clark Five, Hollies, Animals, Herman's Hermits and Gerry and Pacemakers were pretty run of the mill bands, I don't think they brought much to the table. Probably should have put the Yardbirds in for influence at least though.

yeah, unfortantly i have heard of them, but i wouldnt catagorize McFly as Rock, more like Cheesy Pop
