You can use adult shampoos on her hair. Just be sure the soap doesn't get into her eyes.
Try either the Matrix Sleek shampoo or Pantene Relaxed and Natural, it comes in a brown bottle. I've actually used the Pantene on my hair before for the dryness and it worked great, plus it took away the static, my hair is very fine and dry. And Pantene isn't bad for your hair, unless you don't want build-up, but that's what a clarifying shampoo is for, so do that once a week followed by a deep conditioning and on the other days use the Pantene. It'll smooth the frizz away but she'll still have curls.

Your daughter is still young, but it's okay to graduate her up to adult shampoos if you're using good professional products. Obviously, just make sure to keep it our of her eyes.
Matrix makes a great curl defining line called Curl.Life (see here: http://www.matrix.com/products/curl_life/shampoo.aspx ) Try using the shampoo and conditioner, and I think you will see a great difference on her. Also, with curls you don't usually want to wash every day. Try washing her hair only every other day or even every two days. Of course, if it gets dirty, by all means wash it, she is a little girl that probably likes to play and get messy! But if it isn't a problem, stick with every other day.
On days when she wants to wear her hair down, try this product, Biolage Curl Defining Creme (See here, fourth product down:http://www.matrix.com/products/biolage/styling.aspx ) My clients with curly hair absolutely love it! Put a little bit on her hair (more on the ends, not on the scalp) after you towel it dry, and allow it to dry naturally. She'll look great!
I hope this helps! Good luck!

The best products for this type of hair are from Ojon (available on their site, QVC and Sephora). They moisturize, keep hair frizz free and curls looking great! After washing, you can also try a styling cream from Miss Jessie's, called Baby Curl Cream (available on their website) which will also lock in moisture and make the hair very easy to comb!
