Maggoires in covent garden is romantic and in the heart of London. Also near to many good pubs . We usually start off at the Round house for a drink, then Maggoires for a wonderful meal. We have tried the Ritz, the Ivy and many other more expensive restaurants but this one is our favourite. Have a lovely time where ever you choose.

Victoria has some nice little cozy Italian restaurants.

Wardour Street/ Soho area has some amazing oriental places (Okawari is one of my favourites, small but with a good menu, nice staff, decent music and lots of tables for two)

Head further out of Soho towards the back streets near Oxford Street and you'll find a Bistro 1, which is basic, but romantic, or there's a place called Abeno Too near Leicester Square (turn off Charing X Road just after the Porcupine pub) that does Japanese-style pancakes in front of you on a hotplate. Nice staff, food's pleasantly unusual and VERY tasty.

If you're after exotic and romantic in Moroccan style, there's Maison Touareg on the corner of Old Compton Street.
Or even more shady and atmospheric, there's another one - Turkish I think - between there and Cambridge Circus which does tapas style food in lush surroundings with the option of hubbly-bubbly pipes and proper mint tea (whose name I will try and remember before the qu expires!).

Marylebone has some very chic places to eat, including 'Eat and Two Veg; if your date is veggie - that would be guaranteed to impress, but isn't typically romantic, favouring a much sleeker look to the place.

Enjoy your date!

In Richmond there is this lovely Japanese resteraunt called Matsuba, they have wonderfull food and it is very romantic, I've been there about 50 times and have seen 9 proposals there, every single woman said yes! If you have a big budget, go there, if you want one in more central london, try Zuma or Sumosan, you can get their adresses and numbers in the telephone directory. Have a nice date!

Take your lady to Rules in Covent Garden, it is the oldest restaurant in London and was where Edward, Prince of Wales, later Edward VII used to meet Lily Langtry, he even had his own entrance to avoid his love life being too public. The food is excellent and the service first class. Being in Covent Garden you could go to the theatre as well and have a real night on the town.

I would recommend Hakkasan, it has low lighting which gives the place an intimate and mysterious feel as you can't quite clearly see the other diners. The food and service is pretty good too.
You may want to look at the website below to find out more. Good luck!

P.S. A stroll by the Thames is always good, especially now the weather is chilly. You can always hold on to each other to keep warm!

Knightsbridge (darlings), just off Sloane Street, head down Walton Street and find Scallini's, best and I mean the very best Italian resturant in London. Waiters are brilliant, attentive, very funny, if its a special occassion, they will sing, etc, if it is a romantic evening, ask for a secluded table at the front of the resturant, if they put you in the back.....they are expecting celebs in, but ask for a table in the front as its a special occassion.

Near Waterloo - have dinner at La Barca (Lower Marsh http://www.labarca.co.uk/ - my favourite Italian restuarant in London), then on to have a few drinks at the Havana Cuban bar opposite (couldn't find a website but you can't miss it - there is a 40ft painting on the outside wall of a girl in sequins), then walk along the South Bank in the moonlight and have a kiss by the river, or take the tube up to Leicester Sqaure to watch tourists.

Have a lovely night - I miss London!!

Try the Heights in St Georges hotel. Great views of London from the top of the hotel.

Not too expensive either.
