How fast do you go? Do you take your time? What do you look for in a partner? Physical intimacy can be scary and the timing is key. Do you have any suggestions?

I have been dating this guy and we have been intimate. It feels weird now. Every time that I date someone and it gets physical, it gets awkward. My relationship lose an easiness about them.

It is OK to be intimate with someone when you think you have learnt enough about them. People want to feel comfortable around their partners so my suggestion would be to take it slow in order for the other person to not feel like they are being rushed.

For one, There are no written set of rules stating that a certain amount of time has to pass for someone to say "I love you" or to reach out and kiss someone you care for goodnite after a decent date. The sex will come naturally and is bound to happen in a relationship sooner or later. Dont dwell on it. You'l see that you will actually "get" it if you dont think about it all the time. I always look for a combination of looks, personalitity and upbringing/background. Good/ open comunication is the key, if you have a question, ask him or her. Let them know whats on your mind and how you feel.

How fast, taking time, what to look for in a partner? These are all questions that only you can answer.

At 52, I'm afraid giving you my experiences could stress my ability to keep typing. Many were good, some not so good. Your mileage will vary.

I'd only say, don't try to force it. Try to let things flow into it. They seem to work better that way.

i feel that when you should get intimate with another person is after you get to know that person, and when BOTH of you feel that you are ready. Just take your time. When it happens, it happens. Don't force the other person into anything though. That is never a good thing.
