Arthritis in an inflammation of the joints, but other things may cause similar symptoms such as bursitis. Both are characterized by pain or an ache that may be relieved by heat or OTC drugs. With Arthritis, there is usually a 'hot' area over the inflammed tissue. Arthritis is most common in the hands, elbows, shoulders, hips and knees and less common in the feet, so you may have two different problems instead of one. There are several different opinions on how best to manage arthritis and many use analgesics such as aspirin or some of the newer products. My personal opinion is that analgesics are only part of a long term fight, and the fight must include heat to the affected areas...long hot baths...and gentle exercise. I highly recommend the addition of hot peppers to your diet, as the Vitamin contained therein seems important for both relief and prevention. (a product containing this vitamin was marketed in the US but as a ointment...however internal seems better...if you can handle spicy foods). Arthritic joints tend to seize up or really because it is painful to move the joint, the joint looses motility....gentle exercise...even shrugging your shoulders will help keep the joints active.

What are signs, as you say a pain, usually all the time....Go to your doctor there are blood tests. There are several kinds of arthritis. I have RA. Which is just letters to let a person know there body is attacking itself. So far I have been diagnosed with four or five different kinds, tennis elbow, rheumatoid, tendinitis, rheumatoid, and plain old arthritis.
Your joints swell, sometimes they feel bruised when you touch the spot, sometimes this bruise can be seen. Which if people see these they wonder why you are so bruised.
My arthritis my toes and figures will cramp into very painful unnatural positions.
Go to the doctors start getting everything documented. They can also prescribe bigger doses of ibuprofen which is a inflammatory, as well as other things you can take. I have been told NEVER go to a chiropractor. There are also things at the natural food place that claim to help.
Looks like you have the signs now to find out what kind. I have had the shots in my elbows and it was very painful. I will never go through that again! I am even wondering if the doctor did something wrong with how much pain was involved. I had sugary on one of my hands, still can not feel that spot.
You may run a temperature and feel really run down. Just tired all the time.
Good luck with yours!

This must be rheumatism. It pains continuously and increases with cold and/or wind. You can confirm it by RA TEST. If it is positive it is confirmed, but if it is negative it can't be ruled out. Then do ESR TEST. If esr is high it is RA of NEGATIVE type.
RA is of two further types - rheumatic and rheumatoid.
There is no medicine in the world to treat rheumatism. We have achieved it with our SHREESWASTHYAYOG therapy.
