You have an upper respiratory infection which if not treated may progress to a more serious infection. There are over the counter medications for specific symptoms but I suspect that you will require an antibiotic. A brief visit to a physician should secure a prescription. Depending upon your age and previous reactions to medications there are several generics to choose from - cefaclor, ciprofloxacin, and doxycycline would be common inexpensive but very effective choices.

sounds like a regular cold until you mention the throat
it may be strep or flu
do you have fever?

at any rate, follow these directions for 3-4 days and you should feel all better
drink a lot
eat hot soup, lightly toasted bread - stay away from dairy products, although skimmed milk should be ok.
sleep in a comfortable position for as long as you can during night hours.
use caution when using tissues for blowing your nose... use the softest you can find, triple ply should be best, although it may feel too soft and non absorbant.
also try taking 3mg of melatonin (available in pharmacy in little container with 100 or so tablets) before going to bed in the evening... it should help you stay asleep through the early hours of the morning, although all the drinking may cause you to get up to void during the night.

if all else fails (after trying for 3-4 days) see a doc!

as for throat: try tylenol sore throat, did wonders for me!

feel better

Honey soothes sore throats. Chamomile tea is great for a fever. Chamomile has a lovely calming effect on the body. Try putting a few drops of lavendar oil on your pillow to help you relax. Hope you get better soon x
