Marsupials for the most part are considered less evolved than other animals.

They have survived where a niche or isolation has permitted them to avoid predators or find environments for which they are adapted.

They were supplanted elsewhere by the orders rodentia (eg rats and mice) or carnivora (eg felines and canines) when they evolved.

YES i love marsupials they are only like my favorite enhabitants of the north pole region ever. yay
