what are the merits and demerits of both vista & xp.

Simple just get a computer that is Vista ready prepped. That way you have XP pro and if you find you wish to got to Vista it's a simple upgrade. Always seems to be problems with new programs when they first come out so wait til March to upgrade if you so choose.

Personally, I would go with XP Pro. It has a proven track record and is very stable. According to Microsoft, Vista users will only be allowed to re-activate their license 2 times!! What happens if you upgrade your computer's components a couple of times? Then you cannot reload your operating system? Until they change this "policy" I will not upgrade to Vista.

I would say stick with XP. That way you are assured that all of the software in stores today can be used plus you don't want to deal with driver issues if you buy a MP3 player or something and it is not supported with Vista.

xp s the best vista needs a much powerful pc
it depends if ur pc has high configuration its fine and there is no problem in vista but i would always prefer xp pro
it was best,is best and will be better

get xp professional. vista is for gamers.
