It is temporary and will last for a day or two, depending on the type of shampoo you use. If you look at your hair under a microscope, you will see that it is not really that smooth. The thicker the hair strand, the more obvious the gaps in the hair. You can feel this, if you run a strand of your hair backwards between your fingers. What conditioners do, is they fill in these gaps creating a smoother texture (feel) for the hair. When you wash your hair, you clean these gaps back out. Shampoo is designed to strip the oils, dirt and other elements from the hair, which will leave a dull appearance, conditioner fills those gaps in with a clean, lightweight oil or synthetic conditioner and gives it the shine and feel of soft healthy hair. It is important to use the shampoo and conditioner that is designed for your hair type to get the best effect.

Most are normally only for a day or so - they work by smoothing the hair and therefore it reflects light better so looks shiney. Its the same theory as rinsing your hair in cold water closes the hair shaft and again makes it look smooth and shinier :)

Paul Mitchell is astounding. I had dry, brittle hair, & my hairdresser gave me some Paul Mitchell conditioner and shampoo. All i'm able to assert is, "WOW". i like it. It smells dazzling, and my hair is so gentle & healthful looking now. it may basically be offered by a proffesional hairdresser, so which you recognize that's stable. Or, you may get it greater decrease priced on line or on Ebay. stable success! [;

Well I think that works for only one day but some shampoos dont need use for that. If you want just daily shine then you will have to keep using that shampoo on a daily but make sure that its for shinier hair.

using a conditioner is fine....but it only lasts for a day.... if you like to have a long-lasting glow of the hair, you better try going to salons and ask for rebond or hot oil....

It lasts longer than a day and if you maintain a good regimen of hair care it will keep your hair shiny and glowing.
