Leave it out. Do not put it in your fridge. You need to put that bird on to cook on Wednesday night. They say an hour a pound. You have 25 hours to cook that turkey. You need it defrosted by tomorrow night.

The best way to thaw a turkey is in the refrigerator. Defrost the turkey in its original wrapper on a tray in the refrigerator 24 hours for every 5 pounds. For your turkey this would take about 5 days. Never thaw a turkey at room temperature.

BUT, don't dispair.
You may also place the wrapped turkey in the sink and cover it completely with cold water for about 30 minutes per pound. This would take about 12 hours for your turkey. Do this during the day because you will have to change the water every 30 minutes or so to make sure it stays cold. If the wrapping is torn, place the turkey in another plastic bag, close securely, and then place in water. After your turkey is thawed, refrigerate until ready to roast.

This is what Munya's momma does: Clean out the kitchen sink (a little bleach will do--you want to disenfect it) put the stopper in, put the frozen bird in and cover with COLD WATER. Every so often, drain some of the warmed up water out and ADD FRESH COLD WATER (this is from the tap). Should be defrogged in a day.

It will take a while, but frozen bird should be thawed in the refridgerator, or under cool running water, where the water can flow away from the bird, so as not to create a bacteria bath.

Put it in the fridge. NOW. By Thursday morning it will likely be defrosted. Check on it late Wednesday night. If still frozen soak it in cold water.

It will never thaw out in the fridge by Thanksgiving (25lbs is a BIG bird). Fill a big pot (or tub) with cold water and sink that baby in there. When the water starts to get warm -- change water and add cold again.

If you want it for Thursday, then by all means leave it out! Actually, you should leave it in cold water...
A bird that size will take 10-12 hours to thaw completely and will retain enough of a chill to not go bad if you go over.

Your HUBBY is right! Use Cold Water Thawing Method:

Cold Water Thawing:
Thaw breast side down in its unopened wrapper in cold water to cover. Change the water every 30 minutes to keep surface cold
Estimate minimum thawing time to be 30 minutes per pound for whole turkey.
