1 x
1 kilo x = 1,000 x
1 mega x = 1,000,000 x
1 giga x = 1,000,000,000 x
1 tera x = 1,000,000,000,000 x
and so on with:
peta
exa
zetta
yotta
x is usually a measurement like gram, Newton, meter, Calorie etc. There is an exception in the IT world however. Because everything is based on binairy code each step is not 1,000 but 1,024, which is 2^10.
