Usually people only eat a small amount before going to bed. Therefore the stomach prepares itself to digest more than what you've eaten. Hence why eating chewing gum makes you more hungry.

Ypuir stomache igests while you are sleeping, when you are at rest it takes more time to do so. Therefore that tukey sandwich probably digested all the way not too long before you got up & your stomache is recognizing it's empty again. Eating before bed is also bad for your sugar levels because it sits there too long. Most doctors will tell you not to eat past 9pm if you get up at a normal hour & to eat breakfast because that's where all your neergy comes from for the day. Hope it helps.

I don't find this but I would guess that it is because the starvation reflex kicks in otherwise. If you don't eat before going to bed your body is without food for long enough that it "thinks" that perhaps there is a problem with the food supply. Since making you feel hungry if you can't eat is a waste of precious energy it doesn't bother remind you that you are hungry.

In my personal experience, I have dinner between 7-9 pm. I usually get around 6 hours of sleep. I believe the reason why it's called "breakfast" is because you are breaking your "fast" the night before. Note: a "fast", not the speed, is a set period in which you decide not to eat anything. Drinking water, I think, is optional during this time.

I'm never hungry when I wake up. It takes me a couple hours to notice if I actually want food or not whether I ate the night before or not.
So yeah, I guess I don't know. Try not eating excessively if it's such a problem?
