Losing weight is a struggle. Can some of the successful people here share what you did to lose weight and how much you lost? That is whether you did healthy or unhealthy way.

I've been on Atkins for a year and a half so far. I've lost 40 pounds and still losing, while my overall health has improved greatly.

About 7 or 8 years ago, I decided to quit smoking. I quit only because the price of cigarettes went up so much. (now I'm glad I quit for my health though) I worked the graveyard shift at the time and decided to take up running, so I wouldn't gain any weight. Frankly, I was already slightly overweight. I'd start running at night before I had to go to work. I watched my carb intake, and I got to where I could run about 3 or 4 miles. In a matter of months, I dropped 40 pounds! I got great compliments which was very encouraging.
