Okay, first off, I am NOT asking whether you believe the following is true or not, I am only asking if you think it is possible. Kay? Kay.

Now, I've been flicking through the bible recently and I've noticed something odd. Walking on water, turning water in to wine, spending forty days in the dessert, talking about how difficult it would be for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle etc. etc.

Jesus came out with some bizzarre shpiel in his time. I mean, totally out there. I have, in my time, also heard some of my friends talk in the same manner, but whilst stoned off of their heads.

Do you think it is AT ALL possible that Jesus was NOT the son of God, but rather just a regular guy who was quite persuasive and had some pretty cool ideas? Do you think it's possible that he hallucinated some of the stuff he came up with?

Once again, I'm not asking if you believe Jesus was a stoner, just if you think it may be possible.

Not a bad question,

Either Jesus was the Son of God or a raving lunatic.

That is really the only two options, many groups want to make Jesus out as just a prophet, or just a normal man. If you study his life and works, you know that is not possible.

Jesus is either the Son of God or a raving lunatic is the only two options. It is up to each one of us to decide which it is, and our eternal salvation hangs in that decision.

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God.

Good Question, and God Bless you!

OK here it goes I'm gonna try and explain with out confusing you to much on what I believe in. I was raised Roman Catholic believing in the hole bible thing and going to church every sun. But when I was old enough to think and decide on my own Ive come to the conclusion that yes I do believe there was a Jesus and he was most likely the son of God. I don't believe that he walked on water that I feel was an illusion of the people that were so brain washed by his presumed Holiness. As for the turning of water into wine..yeah with some grapes and some chemistry behind it that could be possible. Here is were it might become confusing tho I don't believe that God/Jesus created man I do believe that we evolved from evolution. There is more evidence that we become man/woman from evolving from the apes then there is that one man created another. So basically I do believe there was a Jesus I do believe he had some significant power over people some how making them believe that he was the highest power and what ever he said or did was magical etc. but when it comes down to who created man I believe in evolution. The bible is a very strange and hard to understand book. There are so many things in there that are contradictory to one another that it makes it hard to even believe that any of it is true. So bits and pieces of it I some what believe but most of it I don't.

Well, considering the Bible was written by many different people from very different parts of the country back when they did not have phones, computers, mail or cars, to compare notes and all the stories or recountings of Jesus life are the same don't you think that is a bit coincidental to have it just be made up? Most of the Bible is written by other people not Jesus. If he was hallucinating then was everyone else on drugs as well. Considering there were multitudes that came to hear him speak and see him do these miracles. Do you think people from the year 3099 are going to read our history books and say that the civil war was all a dream because no one in there right mind would walk straight into a group of men with guns in their hands, or that no one with any common sense would take people who committed crimes and put them in prisons and treat them like a guest in a hotel? When your world has become so changed that you find it hard to believe what happened in the past was real it is easy to understand your doubt but if you were to really seek out a life of believing in Jesus and studying his words you would find a life of peace and understanding that no one who does not believe in him can explain.

Why is it so hard to believe that God could cause people to walk on water, or to turn water into wine. If God exist couldn't he sustain somebody in the Desert for forty days. The eye of a needle refers to a small entrance in the city gate were a camel would have to take off everything it was carrying and crouch down to get through it. Jesus wasn't saying that rich people couldn't get into heaven. He was merely warning us not to be caught up in the material aspects of this world. When you believe in God then all of this becomes easier to believe. When you don't then your only resource is to assume that all theist are crazy and don't know what they are talking about.

Now you can try to think up another question

Well, I believe it is possible, but then I am not a Christian.

To me, Jesus was a Magus; a real magician. A wise man. When those three magi came to visit him as a little child, that sounds an awful lot like the monks who travel to find the new Dalai Lama. They had inside information concerning his astrological chart, apparently; they spoke of "his star" which guided them to him.

As for being a "stoner," remember that many mystics throughout history have made use of magical plants and herbs to reach enlightenment. Ergot, psilocybin, cannabis, mescaline -- all are natural hallucinogenics. They have been known for centuries. They have been used for spiritual purposes long before there was ever such a thing as "recreational drugs."

Okay, first off, there are witnesses to account for his miracles. Why would God let him do miracles unless he was at least on God's side? In the Old Testament, those who do miracles are prophets who God works through. If Jesus wasn't at least a prophet, then he is definitely against God.
Furthermore, we have no evidence to support anyone saying that they are the son of God before Jesus, and why should we? Who would be crazy enough to say that unless they were telling the truth?
Jesus was definitely not on drugs. He was exceptionally close to his disciples, and definitely they would have noticed that he had been doing something a little shady. "then Jesus took the good drugs, and went off to preach"---could you imagine that in the Bible? The answer is "no" because nobody would take their time to listen to a drunk man, same thing with someone who's noticeably on drugs.
Jesus would have to be the craziest man alive in order to do what he did, and to eventually die on the cross for US. History places Jesus' death at around the time he was 33ish years old. He began his ministry around age 30. Tell me why he wouldn't have started sooner, say, when he's old enough to speak for himself.

So in conclusion, it's not remotely possible that Jesus was a stoner, and he definitely wasn't some crazy guy because of the witnesses there are to his miracles. Nobody ever caught him in sin (other than "blasphemy", but that's because he said he was God--which is true). It is impossible for God to sin. Therefore the only logical answer would be for Jesus to be God, and the Son of God.

Quran verifies Jesus as a prophet of God and emphasizes the fact that all prophets are ordinary humans.
God can do everything he wills and if you don't believe in a person walking on water just look at all miracles happening around you every moment. Just like life & existence.
I can't understand why you would want to go to hell when great heavens are waiting for u?

I think his mother saved her own *** by concocting the whole immacule conception thing in the first place,or it was planned from the start since Mary was of the bloodline that was supposed to spawn the Messiah. The whole treatment of Mary an Joseph as average people and Jesus as a virtual pauper is hogwash anyway. The "carpenter" came from well to do bloodline and if he lived like a pauper it was by choice. I think as far as his exploits some of it was delusion on his part, and the part of his disciples ,and much of it was the stuff of legend which eventually ended up written as truth. Many myths have a basis in fact and then through retelling over and over again get blown out of proportion. As for his own delusion let us face the fact that we know almost nothing of his life between his birth and the beginning of his ministry, because he was being taught every religious doctrine they could teach him and being deluded into the idea that he was the son of God during that time would be my guess.

I read your entire question.

My answer is there is not a chance at all that he is not the Son of God.

He claimed to be God so if he claimed to be God and knew he wasn't, then he was a liar. If he claimed to be God and only thought he was God, then he was crazy. Now some people claim that he was a good teacher and prophet only but how could he be a good teacher or propher if he was a liar or a lunatic?

The only option that God has left open to us is that he was who he claimed to be. Jesus claimed to be God when he said "before Abraham was born "I Am". "I Am" was an Old Testament name for God. He also said "he who has seen me has seen the Father".

I don't know why the things you say are strange seem strange to you other than when you take them out of context.
