How about something that you can play with her? Your time is more valuable than a gift, but it doubles when you play together. Have fun!

Thats a lot of money for a 5 year old who wont even realise. Maybe you shoudl speak to the mum and find out if there is anything you could get that the girl needs, Im sure she will get too many toys, like most kids at christmas.

I would recommend something from the Bratz range, my daughter loves the big ponies/heads that you give hair do's and put makeup on, they are in the region of £20.

Any kind of doll or puzzles. Does she like to draw? Get a fill in color type of activity book etc.

Is there any chance that you could talk to her about what she might have asked Santa Claus for? If you can, ask her, and then talk to her parents about what things they might be getting for her. Maybe you can get her something to coincide with what they are getting.
Have fun shopping.
