before ghd came out i had tried various straighteners but nothing has ever come close to the effect that ghd have, they are the best to get hair poker straight, however they are addictable and possibly will damage your hair if over used more than other brands, and as you have fine hair it automatically will be weaker and by colouring it you will make it weaker still. depending on how straight ou hair is already i would try some middle of the range ones rather than ghd as ghd get so incredibly hot. if any of your friend have straighteners ask if you can try those first or you will end up with a pile of straighteners at the back of you wardrobe like me!! one other tip is where ever possible don't scrimp and buy cheaper ones as with straighteners you defiantly get what you pay for! good luck!

If your hair is very fine you may want to get a ceramic brand because the traditional flat irons will be too harsh for your type hair. I know that a lot of people are suggesting the GHD brand but honestly you hair is the determining factor as to how it will react to the heat. I suggest that you get a ceramic that does not get very hot and has different heat settings. A lot of the straighteners now a days are competing to be hotter and hotter, to accomadate all hair types. go to a salon and ask. That is actually the best way for someone determine whats hot enough for your hair without burning it off.

Get one with a temperature dial so you are in control of the heat. Because you have fine hair, you dont need any higher than 180 degrees (dont know it in american meausurements)
Get ceramic, ionic, gem stone, teflon, etc. There are plenty on the market.
If you are concerned of damage to your hair, you can buy a thermal protectant that wont allow the heat from the straightener to damage your hair.

If you are in Australia, the best ones to buy are
*GHD
*The President
*The Silver Bullet
Or any of the remington range

My advice is to go to the shops, have a look at all the straighteners they have, and compare what the boxes say.

Its a good idea to get one with infra red technology as they have negative ions and stop the hair from frizzing and keep it straight for longer periods of time.

Also, dont be afraid to splurge. Hair straighteners are a neccessity for girls and u will find urself using it everyday. It can change or improve your image so its totally worth it.
goodluck

I have very fine hair, I have GHDs. They are expensive, but they do the job. Remember to buy a heat protector for your hair

without doubt it has to be GHD hair straighteners, which are the only straighteners used reputable hair salons and hair stylist. they have a great range of thermodynamic protective product to complement your hair type and that will help keep it healthy

I've got very fine hair, and i found that i didn't need to buy expensive hair straighteners as one touch with hair straighteners and my hair was strait, mine cost about £12.00 from Superdrug and they are great!

Buy one through your hairdresser....they have the best sources. But be prepared for damage...its inevitable. Make sure to get frequent trims, and protect your hair with the best products available.

You gotta go with CHI....they are the best brand. Yes, they are more expensive than others....but I promise you they are worth it. They dont snag your hair adn they heat up quickly. I have never had a problem with mine. The cheaper ones break or stop getting as hot later on.

Straight On!!!
