Vodka, tomato juice and a dash of both worcestershire sauce and tabasco sauce

There are as many 'perfect' Bloody Mary recipes as there are for Spaghetti Bolognese, but as with the latter it all comes down to taste in the end and it's certainly an acquired taste! The absolutely essential ingredients are vodka, tomato juice and Worcestershire Sauce (Lea & Perrins being the only 'genuine' Worcestershire Sauce); without any one of these it ain't a Bloody Mary!

With no claim to it being 'perfect', here's my recipe:

Fill a tall glass with ice and add a large shot of vodka. Add: a heavy slug of Lea & Perrins, a grind of black pepper and a sprinkle of sea salt (or celery salt if you like; I don't!) Stir so that the sauce and seasoning are blended with the vodka. Now add a half teaspoon of horeseradish cream and a very small dash of sherry. Stir again (as you stir, the ice will melt a little - that's intentional). Now fill the glass almost to the top with tomato juice and add Tabasco sauce drop by drop, stirring and tasting after each drop, until the BM is at your desired level of heat. Garnish with a celery stick or, my preference, a lime wedge; drink, savour, enjoy!

Vodka (Stoli Elite is my preference), tomato juice, little shot of worcestershire sauce, celery salt, pepper, A1 sauce, little horseradish, couple squeezes of lime. If you like it hot add a few drops of tabasco. Shake it all up and serve in a salted rim glass over ice. Garnish with celery stalk, green olives, peppercini, pickled asparagus or any combination.

Glass of tomato juice, shot of Vodka, dash of Worcester sauce, dash of Tabasco. Ice cubes. Some people add a little celery salt, but I don't.

What Sharon said, but add some salt and pepper and horseradish and Louisiana hot sauce.

Also....I tend to like them with Rum instead of Vodka.
