I think you'll find that Mary was Jewish as were almost all the people in the Old Testament, you couldn't become a Christian in those days, Christ had not come down to earth and died for our sins. So sorry, no the Hijab has nothing to do with Christians. Nothing wrong with wearing one tho' if that's what you want to do and as you say many orders (tho' not all) of nuns wear headcovering although they don't call it HIjab.

I wouldn't say it's a Christian invention, because the veil is older than Christianity. Since the Virgin Mary was a hebrew, it looks more like some hebrew cultural aspect.

just wanted to let tears of the... to get his/her facts straight. You know nothing about Islam. how about I scandalize your religion with untruths? For your info you need witnesses for both men and women who steal/fornicate/kill ect. Inncoent until proven guilty. Wheres the sin in that?
