As for the paedophile bit, no one knows Aisha's age, when she got married. It could be anywhere between 9 to 16. Sources vary. And this was in an era, where 30 was considered old. We can't judge what may have happened 1400 years ago, by 21st century standards.

People in the old days used to marry little girls 9-10-11 years old, even till recently, most of the grandmothers in that area got married at that age, that is why it did not seems strange at that time and surely not a crime

i am tired of this , you should read the pre Islam era history, it was the arab traditions to marry young girls (so he married her and didn't sleep with her) for example if i was an arabic on that era and i have a young girl i would offer u to marry her beacuse u r my best friend for example....
the arabs hated to have baby girls and they used to burry them alive to get ride of shame
