First of all, the term interracial is incorrect. Anyone that has taken a biology class would know that the color of one's skin is determined by a few different genes. And by the process of natural selection, small mutations in the DNA have occurred over time to make people better off in their environments. The term should be called interethnic relationships. The problem is that most people are to concerned with others think about them and how their families would perceive them if they dated outside their ethnic group. Also source of attraction is another factor. Some people are just not attracted to other ethnicities.

So very true Mister. The reason there are so few people open to these types of relationships is because of the ignorance of the cutlures out there that believe that there can only be one type of race that we shall see. But what they fail to realize, is that we all came from one race. We came from Adam and Eve, then from Noah and his sons. So everyone is really the same, we have just been seperated by the Tower of Babel. Think about it. From there all the other civilizations started.

Unlike those who say Racism, I tend to think it is peer pressure. If a guy or a lady were to date outside of their "skin color" - face it save superficial changes between people from different regoins - there are no real differences between a person living in Norway and a person whose family has been living Australia since it was first colonized by humans.

There are no different "races" of humanity. Last time I checked humans aren't a collection of "ring species" but a single species. "Homo Sapien Sapien" is what we all are.

Don't anyone think it's only one group that frowns upon dating outside of one's "ethnic background" either. Face it, I know people who frown upon Italians marrying Irish. As an Italian-Irish person, it's true.

Now what it is isn't racism but cultural differences. Especially if the culture is artificially imposed by pressure from those that live around them.

I wouldn't date a person with huge cultural differences if there were patterns of living I'd find unacceptable or if they found my living unacceptable.

because they are afraid of what they don't know...I think many people think that if they stay with in their race they know what they are getting themselves into, which is not the case.... So until people stop being scared of a person otter appearance then this is what we have.... I personally love a man with a little bit of color always have and always will. Truthfully I tend not to even look in a white boys direction they just aren't my type....

The aswer is simple

RACISM

Take it from a black man. All those @$$holes out there that have a problem with interacial relationships are simply racist. Whether they admit to it or not, whether they 'have black/white/hispanic friends or not, if they have a problem with different races being together making babies and being happy, they are simply racist.

Some feels that the races should be kept "pure" and that it violates some Biblical edict (which I could never find)
