If you become (or are) a Christian how do you know you "have" Jesus in your life? Is it a feeling?

I'm not making a mockery, I just don't get it.

Thank you for your honest question. It is not as easy as saying I have this feeling. Feelings as you may know can be mis-leading. How you know is your life is changed you do not want to do the things that is sin and people see a change in you.

I hope this helps.

When you confess Jesus as your Savior and Lord the Holy Spirit will come and live inside of you. Get yourself baptised in the Holy Spirit and then you will speak in tongues with utterances given by the Holy Spirit. In Acts 10:44-48 and 11:15-17 the Jews knew that the non-Jews had Jesus when they spoke in tongues. This is the Biblical test.

I'm probably not the best example, but I feel it ought to make a difference to how you live. You look at others and try to love them as Jesus would, you try to act as Jesus would and focus on serving God rather than getting money and having a good time.

Also it would be having peace and assurance that life is worth living and God is in charge.

But alas I am not a living example of this. I used to feel this way, though.

We all have Jesus, he died for everyone, John 3:16, and he calls everyone to come to Him. Sadly most turn away from that call. I know I have Jesus because I still feel the promptings of his Holy Spirit guiding me to what is wrong and what is right. I spend time with Him each day and I gather with fellow believers on the Sabbath - Saturday and worship Him together with them. Daily spend time in his word, the Bible to get to know him for yourself and then you will have a relationship with him just like you have with a best friend.

Recipient will exhibit signs irrational (save passionate) behavior - eyes will dialate instantaneously to inspiration - will look to others that share in apparent glory - may scream out in joy then proceed to speak in a garbled mess (speaking in tongues)...

For christians (and Im not one surprisingly) to have Jesus is the point at which a confidence comes with believing he is watching out for you, an almost physical prescence...this usuallhy makes them very bold with each passing trial to ultimately what can be described as very visible self-confidence (one "with Jesus" will speak emboldenly in any situation meriting...the confidence will be felt in and out to everyone...I'd imagine there'd be a lot of confidence)

I used to be an alcoholic. I tried quitting for over 20 years. I didn't want to be a drunk. I didn't like wasting my money on stuff made me sick. I took my problems to the altar one Sunday and Jesus set me free. Sound crazy I know. But for over 5 years since that day I haven't had a craving for alcohol. That's what Jesus can do, and more.

In short: a little boy is told by his father not to touch the burner on the stove because it's hot. The boy believed him but wanted to know for sure so he touches it. As his flesh burns, he moves from the realm of belief to experience. So when an uncle comes to him and says, "That burner isn't hot" the boy knows he's lying because he's experienced the burn from the hot stove.

Same thing with Jesus. We can believe in Jesus all we want, however belief is all we have...it's only when we repent and put our trust in Him that we move from belief to the realm of experience.

This is so hard to explain dear one. I know that I know that I know - I just know. When I accepted Jesus Christ and who He is and believed on Him, confessing with my mouth and believing in my heart that He is God's Son - the Holy Spirit came to reside within me - convicting me of sin, comforting me when I am sad, God's Spirit within me - I know that I am saved because of this. Does this make sense? It is not just a feeling - it is Truth. I pray you find the Truth - Jesus Christ. I hope this helps.

Well this is my experience. When I prayed to receive Christ I felt the Lord come into my spirit. I can't explain it. Not everyone will feel this though. I also know I have Jesus cause he has spoken to me. Sometimes I will feel the Lord's precense but not all the time. I just know Jesus is with me even when I don't feel him. He promised to never leave me nor forsake me.
