ive had back pain from 22 weeks i am now 35 wks and 3 days the back pain is worsening and been told the baby is back to back...ive had a bit of bleeding with it too was sent into hospital 2 days ago, through having contractions and was told that nothing is happening , however i had to wait 3 hours for this informaition , and they totally dismissed the bleeding, i had also told the midwife before seeing the doctor that i had not eaten since 3pm....and my husband had to badger them to get me something to eat since i was shaking , it was not till 9pm that anything was done!....i think its disgusting how i was treated , they even got how many weeks i am wrong ....insisted again that i have a glucose tolerance test because the baby is on the big size < of which i had already had and it came back clear!> and for the pain of my back they only gave me pain killers .....

yes but if they had listerned to me something could have been better sorted out, the fact that they did not listern to me and that i had a indian < no offense to thouse of ethnic origin> that could hardly speak english in an english hospital that continously kept reffering to my pregnancy as my first when in my notes if they had taken time to look would have noted that infact it is my second....and not only that mislayed my notes compleatly ! im sorry but i must say that i have lost faith in the recruitment of nhs Doctors and nurses.
im sure some of you are great , but i cannot get over how badly i was treated and the way i was badly misjudged in my time there

Yes NHS is crap, similar experience here and I lost my little girl, stillborn at 40 weeks, she had only been dead a week, cord wrapped around her neck. I'd visited my doctor and gynaecologist earlier in the week and they never picked up on it. I knew she'd stopped moving as much but stepmum said it was the calm before the storm. Took me in to start me off, did a scan and told me she was dead, and I'd have to give birth naturally. Sheer hell I'll never forget it. So get your husband to kick but as much as he has to till they take notice. Be careful and good luck. X

Hi i am a staff nurse in a nhs hospital, the way you we're treated is very poor, the midwives and doctors have your medical notes to see how far gone you are and that you've had the glucose intolerance test, and they really should have got you something to eat, I'm not defending the nhs just because i work for them but the government have put all these cut backs on the nhs hospitals, that nurses, doctors everyone is finding it hard to cope, if a staff member goes off sick we don't get cover we have to cope, this could be 4 staff looking after 28 poorly medical patients, also your back pain they really couldn't do anything as your pregnant, painkillers are the only thing they can do, they can't give you an x-ray

I don't think that the NHS is to blame, more the government for mis-managing it. They put too much emphasis on waiting times, and not enough emphasis on the causes of waiting times, under staffing in key areas. There are also too many managers within the NHS, paying for these people is another reason why there aren't enough funds left over in the budgets for the extra staff that would have helped your situation.

it isn't specifically the NHS that is failing people, it's the ridiculous restrictions, guidelines, new innovations that this s*** governments are trying to bring in that is killing the NHS. We have hundreds of newly qualified nurses out there who after all their training can't get jobs because of lack of funding. Never thought I'd say this after working in the NHS for 25 years, but bring on private health care!!!
