I know this sounds way out there but I tryed it and its the best turkey I have ever made. I use a paper bag. One you get from the food store. Butter the inside of the bag then put the turkey and pan in and bake. It keeps it moist. Every hour I sqeeze a orange. The last hour I leave it uncovered.

I've had great success with the bag. Just follow directions. It always comes out incredibly moist (a true feat for turkey!) and beautifully browned. And much easier.

i have made both and in my opinion don't love the luggage. one 12 months I made it contained in the bag and fairly some the exterior stuck to the bag and got here off. And in case you get a touch hollow contained in the bag the completed pan receives grimy besides. then you might want to get the turkey out of the bag. as long as you baste it once an hour you would possibly want to be high quality purely cooking it contained in the pan.

use a bag if you want your turkey to be moist. just take it out during the last stage of cooking to get that brown crisp skin.

Personally I like a juicy soft skinned Turkey. I say cover that rascal! or at least 2/3rds of the way through cooking it.

Oh - if it moves.., smack it it with an iron skillet. :-)

NO...The skin will be limp, not crispy. Cover it with a large cheese cloth. You can buy it at the store you bought the turkey in.
