I think it would freak anyone out when 6 men stand up in a plane and start to pray, no matter what they look like, thats just not using good judgement! It is still too fresh in our minds of what took place on 9-11 to act like that on a plane, to me it would just be polite to say what ever it was I felt I needed to say to God or whom ever they might be praying to,sitting down alone, to myself, Quitely!

1. Jews have never blown up a plane so dont refer to them as an answer to this Question! 2. If we are not allowed to pray in School then the "praying where you want and when you want can not apply to this! 3. This was not an act of agression, never said it was, what I am saying is it's strange and disrespectful of other people on the plane that might have lost someone on 9-11. 4.Azra, I never reached an answer muchless the "ultimate answer" it was just a question I asked so that maybe I could come up with the "ultimate answer", why all the HATE?? Or is that just the exact reason we might question the actions of Muslims praying on a plane?

18 muslims overtaking 4 planes to kill Americans, was that fair?

I think they should not have been kicked off.. However, it is necessary to pray for Muslims... For me, I pray quietly in my seat (really don't see the purpose in standing up on a plane, praying.. we are even excused from doing the full standing prayer when travelling as far as I know.

I can understand the fear of some people and yes, some lost someone in 9-11.. However, Muslims on whole are VERY peaceful people and we should not be seen as terrorist regardless if we are praying in public or not.

They should've praying sitting down. How do they the direction of Mecca? How can they B sure the plane is moving in a straight line while they are praying?

If U think that we R the masterminds behind that 9/11 thing, then U R admitting that a lunatic fanatic who lives in the wilderness is stronger that Bush and the devilsh minds in the White House.

Wake up, America.

Of course it is totally unfair and unjust also. These men go through the same security checks as everyone else. Why is them praying on a plane so offensive and frightening? I don't get it.
Jews pray on planes also, are you offended by them praying? So your saying because a man is praying he is a terrorist, plane hijacker and a bomber? I would be more worried about people drinking excessively on planes and those planes being delayed and diverted just to put these people off. Which does occur all too frequently. Security at airports now is through the roof. If that's not good enough for you i suggest you don't fly and leave innocent people minding there own business to go about theres.

Where and when did this happen? Haven't turned on the TV yet today.

I thought Muslims prayed on their knees and putting their forehead to the ground? Of course that would be hard to do on a plane. Could they have prayed before getting on the plane? I'm sure Allah would understand their situation and accept their prayer in a different form this one time.

I think it is wrong. I do not know the airline they were on.

It was so beautiful, the daily prayers of the Orthodox Jews on the El Al plane going to Israel. I felt very good watching them. I would also feel good seeing the Imams praying--we should have respect for all.

True, a quiet prayer while sitting in one's seat might be less disturbing to others. But, the Jews and Muslims have their practices, and they should not be restricted for them.

I don't know the article you are referring to, but kicking them off for praying is uncalled for. However, as you said, six men all standing up together to pray on a plane is NOT using good judgement. Muslims are given special concessions for praying while travelling. One is to shorten the prayer & combine them, another is that you can pray sitting down. Be it riding on a horse, travelling in a car or flying on a plane. It is unnecessary to stand up while praying on a plane.

Wrong on so many levels-- anyone who has an inkling about Islam knows that pious Muslims pray 5 times daily no matter where they are. This was a slap in the face to these men & to the faith of Islam.

I have no problem with kicking these guys off the plane.

Are they new? Where have they been the last 5 years? Of course such actions will freak people out.

This is news to me so I am taking your word for it but ...

If I was seated on an aircraft and six bearded guys with funny hats stood up in unison and stated praying to their imaginary god, identifying themselves as crazy muslims (and I am not generalising here - all muslims are crazy to believe in that nonsense) I would be off the plane before they were. That is VERY scary!!! Not to mention stupid of them. What did they think the reaction of 'normal' people would be? Then again, it could have been done on purpose ... very odd. Very frightening. Very stupid.

maybe because of the fact they weren't kicked off the airplane on the grounds that they had something to do with terrorism or that they've been a hazard yet as a replace they have been kicked off because of the fact of their faith. that's united statesa., no longer Iran. We understand the liberty of religion in this united states of america. you're making Conservatives sound like bigots with this remark. I surely have many Conservative buddies who may be ashamed to call you one in all them. and that i recognize what your going to assert too, "Then their no longer real Conservatives". i think of you could desire to take a annoying look at your self and make certain what the real reason is which you think of what occurred with those Iman's became the astonishing element to do.
