no father is bad for his son. "life doesnt come with a instruction booklet that is why we have fathers". Just be what you are. Till the time you realize that your father was right you have a son who thinks you are wrong so dont worry and have a great time with your son.

Try to put your self in his shoe. You have to act like him if you want to win his love in return. You have to spend time with him. I don't know how old is ur son but you have to take him out often, may be fishing, camping, walk in woods(forest).
Make stories for him, watch his favorite move with him. Try to eat what he likes. I think it will work for you. All the best.

Kids just want your love and attention. Spend time with him. Let him know how much he means to you and how much you love him. Let him know you always will be there for him no matter what. Growing up he will want to feel close to you. Make sure you always have time for him and never push him away.
