It is a system by which most all law enforcement agencies are linked (National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System). There is one that is federal (NCIC - National Criminal Justice Information System) and each state has it's own. Agencies can enter wanted persons, unidentified human remains, stolen items (with serial numbers), stolen vehicles and the like. So an officer can run a wanted check on a visitor to the lovely islands of Hawaii and the computer will tell that officer if said person is wanted in say Georgia if the agency in Georgia has entered said person into the database as wanted. Criminal and driving records can be accessed through the system as well.

While the Police National Computer (PNC) provides a national hub for information on issues like criminal records, there is considerable intelligence held by individual forces that must be available nationally. Achieving intelligence sharing on this scale will not be easy and will require the collective commitment of the police service and other partners.'

There's the police background check computer that pulls up everything there is to know about you. You can basically use the same information they use and get the same information they get at cisworldwide.com it just cost around 40 bucks. however they get a name and a birth date or a social security number and enter it into the system and based on this can pull wants and warrants, driving record, current address, current background info and anything about your life with the exception of a few things, but I am a consultant in security so I can't divulge that. Another computer the police use is called VICAP which is for violent crimes anything from assault to rape to homicide goes into this and is processed by the feds and compared nationwide for similarities in other jurisdictions on the basis of pattern, similarities, etc.. lots of algorithms and computers models and very accurate. This is used by profilers to catch violent subjects especially ones who escalate in behavior

that's no longer attainable to provide you any answer as there are not any such archives. i will assure you that over my occupation I used NCIC and CPIC many circumstances an afternoon and lost count number of the circumstances it pointed me contained in the right route. you've a rape the position the suspect had a tattoo of a dolphin on his left forearm. You ask the computing device for each person on document with that sort of tattoo, then slender it down by criminal record, the position he lives or lived, and so on. Or the criminals were seen leaving the scene in a blue 2006 Kia Magentis with Ohio plates. You ask the computing device for all 2006 blue Kia Magentis' registered in Ohio and slender it down from there to county, city, and so on. it really is about the nearest i will provide you with to an answer. the possibilities are infinite. Cheers!!
